Buxton Tennis
Club is part of the Buxton Cricket, Bowls and Tennis club and the site
on Park Road was first established by the Cricket Club in 1853.
Major tennis tournaments were held in Buxton from 1883 and it was the
venue for the All-England Ladies Doubles Tennis Championships! The
competition continued under that name until 1951.

amongst you who know the Buxton personnel may recognise a slightly more
youthful Leo Barbero. Its a fascinating history of tennis in
Buxton and heartily recommended!
The 3 all-weather courts
are set in a beautiful location alongside the cricket ground and
bowling green with open views to the south-East and are within easy
walking distance of Buxton Town Centre.

NEWS:
The courts have all been cleaned - come and play and try them
out!
They have been pressure washed by Pressure Washable of Leek and they have done a
splendid job for a very reasonable price.

A newsletter, information about
playing times on the courts and a membership form were all emailed and
sent out by hard copy mid-April. They may also be downloaded by

British Tennis! Its FREE for members of
Buxton Tennis Club and will remain free up until at least 2012.
